For the first time since Nike began working with the Women's World Cup in 1995 that each kit has been designed especially for the women's teams, rather than as derivations of the uniforms made for men. Nike House of Innovation celebrated these custom team kits and the narratives of the athletes through creating a space designated for Women’s World Cup. The innovation behind the design was highlighted, telling the story of the Nike Sports Research Lab, as well as the sustainable components behind the recycled polyester. Meanwhile, at Nike Soho, the team kits were celebrated in a different way, focused on the fashion-forward consumer. Local stylist collaborators created looks recreating how to wear the jersey through a customized cut & sew approach.
