In 2021, while at Active Theory, I collaborated with Spotify's in-house team to develop the Spotify Wrapped experience for artists and podcasters. Our goal was to create an immersive, WebGL-powered platform that brought users' annual listening data to life in a vibrant and engaging way. We designed dynamic visuals and interactive elements that allowed users to explore their personalized statistics, such as top artists, songs, genres, and podcasts, in a seamless and visually appealing manner.
To achieve this, we utilized advanced WebGL techniques to render complex animations directly in the browser, ensuring a smooth and responsive experience across devices. Our approach combined cutting-edge technology with thoughtful design, resulting in a platform that not only showcased individual listening habits but also celebrated the diverse global community of Spotify users. This project exemplified our commitment to pushing the boundaries of web-based experiences, delivering a product that resonated with millions of users worldwide.
