The task of this project was to re-envision the brewery’s existent packaging for their H8erade orange electrolyte sour in order to highlight the Baltimore Orioles’ recent success and associate the Peabody Heights brand with hometown spirit and enthusiasm.
An illustrated label was commissioned to replace the beer’s former type-heavy design. A braver new reference to vintage Gatorade branding was to be implemented in the new design as well. This posed a challenge as various copyrights were to be avoided. A great deal of research and sleuthing was needed to ensure that neither MLB or Gatorade intellectual property would be accidentally compromised.
The brewery was looking to experiment with their existent brand identity and incorporate hand-lettering and stylized logo treatments as well.
