BLENDING CULTURE AND VISION TO CREATE A COFFEE BRAND
I was thrilled when Mike Utaegbulam invited me to help brand Rise & Grind Coffee Co.—a new Black-owned coffee e-commerce venture. He and three partners aimed to later expand into brick-and-mortar shops, shaking up the coffee industry. After research uncovered the generic “The Grind Coffee,” we collaboratively rebranded to the more unique Rise & Grind Coffee Co. I then explored concepts celebrating African heritage meets modern minimalism.
BALANCING BOLD FLAVORS
After rounds of sketches and logo mockups, we landed on a favorite. Clean lines and geometric shapes create an airy, welcoming brand. Four coffee beans represent each founder, encapsulating their vision. Rich browns and burnt orange nod subtly to urban style with a dash of brightness.
