This is a poster I created for Madhappy, a brand that actively supports mental health awareness. My goal was to create a piece that felt aesthetic and clean at first glance, but when you stared at it long enough it made you feel something much deeper.
Each illustration represents a struggle I've experienced on my own mental health journey.
The hourglass: The stress of time.
The fire and match: That feeling of ending it all.
The alcohol: Our best friend and biggest enemy.
The dead fish in the armpit: The lack of hygiene.
The dead plant: the responsibilities you had that didn't get done.
The clothes line: The responsibilities you have that have yet to be done.
The small bird with a love letter: Although we can barely love ourselves, we desire to love and be loved by others.
