I create art as a way to reclaim how I relate to the world. In this digital age it is easy to find myself detached from my surroundings. The act of physically putting ink to paper realigns me to my inner self by connecting me with my body. I become focused, entering into a meditative state. Through this action my work seeks to thread together the physical world with my inner world. The action is as important as the result. Image making becomes an act of love.
Drawing influence from the natural world, I use plants as my vessel to bridge the abstract with the tangible. My art pays homage to the plants and flowers I portray, and the wisdom that they offer.
