Fold, Unfold, Celebrate: The Visual Identity of GAIFF’s 20th Anniversary

The Golden Apricot International Film Festival, held annually in Yerevan, had established itself as a key cultural event, celebrating international and regional cinema. For its 20th edition, the festival wanted to create a special visual identity that captured the essence of its journey over two decades while also setting a forward-looking tone for the future.

The visual identity I created for GAIFF’s 20th anniversary succeeded in capturing the festival’s reflective yet forward-looking spirit. The cohesive design helped reinforce the festival’s brand, offering attendees a visually striking and immersive experience. GAIFF’s anniversary edition was widely recognized as one of its most memorable, with the new identity becoming an integral part of the festival’s legacy and international appeal.

The final design was bold yet minimal, with the 20th chair acting as a unifying element. The visual identity was applied to the festival’s key venues, including the Demirchyan Sport and Concert Complex, Cinema Moscow, and the House of Cinema, bringing a cohesive look to the city during the festival.
