This project aimed to design a web-based dashboard, known as the "Corrosion Dashboard," for corrosion engineers at BP Energy. The purpose of the dashboard was to help engineers analyze data from sensors on oil refinery components, enabling them to predict and prevent corrosion damage.
The project involved user research, including interviews with corrosion engineers to understand their pain points and needs. Insights from the interviews and workshops were used to create user journey maps and personas.
A high-fidelity prototype of the dashboard was developed to demonstrate tasks such as locating areas with corrosion issues, visualizing corrosion, and diving into data for further analysis. The prototype utilized BP's existing design system.
The project resulted in positive outcomes, including stakeholder approval and a three-year agreement with BP Energy. Usability testing was incorporated into the project's future sprints based on the successful prototype testing.
