Haven

I was tasked by Haven Energy to introduce the company to the world thru video. They wanted to introduce what they do and who they are, in a comforting and familiar voice, with avoiding anything alarmist, yet still creating a sense of urgency.

I presented several different directions with this miniature world being the favorite. We were able to create a warm vernacular of home and neighborhood, with maximum control over our environment as we could make it ourselves from scratch. We leaned into the theme of night and day, and stormy and clear, as our main visual device to communicate our value props. Additionally, this direction allowed us to work within the limitations of a smaller production budget.

The lighting changes in the miniature world are all practical, shot on a blue screen to swap in real skies, as well as small composites of VFX to give us a surreal and comforting dreamlike quality.
