Tryangles started out as a simple exercise to create a couple of digital portraits of people I knew. Trying to push myself and experiment with a new technique I turned the exercise into a personal challenge to try to create these portraits using nothing but triangles (thus the name try-angles). Using Adobe Illustrator I drew every single triangle by hand (or, more accurately, mouse) even to the smallest detail. As you can imagine it took a while and probably would’ve been way easier to just write a script to triangulate their portraits. However with this project I really wanted to capture the randomness and inconsistencies of my human hand. Special thanks to my lady Mahala and the homie Prince for letting me use them as subjects!
