'Sugarcoated' Documentary

Lolita, a fashion movement imported from the streets of Japan, has a thriving group of followers in Los Angeles. We follow four Lolitas and investigate their motivations – which range from self-expression to the questioning of identity and body image – for adopting the extreme style.



I developed the concept and produced this short documentary with a team of 6 in the span of one month. The film has screened at over a dozen film festivals across the country and won several awards and media mentions
