Social Theme Park

This series won Honorable Mention in America's 3x3 International Illustration Award 2021.

A group of people happen to step into an unordinary theme park, here is just like normal amusement parks are full of rides. And no one won’t be here without immersing in such joyful excitement. It’s just that this theme park also has something different from those ordinary ones.

"Social Theme Park" series was inspired by the trending Netflix documentary ‘The Social Dilemma’. "Social Theme Park" is a metaphor to describe how social media psychologically manipulates its users and gains the profit for tech companies. Social media collect the online activity information of its users and build models to predict users’ next move, and give them back dopamine hits to keep users hanging on social media. It seems absurd but just as one said "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.", which is mentioned in the documentary. As these characters are decadent in the matrix of social media, their appearances and behavior are unconsciously becoming similarized.
