Ducks Unlimited Magazine

Ducks Unlimited approached me to create a headline illustration for their history feature on the duck stamp, formally known as the Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp, which raises funds for wetland conservation. The feature was to highlight the work of artists and wet conservationists who’s work has been featured on the duck stamp over the years.
My approach in addressing this objective was to highlight both the artist and a wetland together in one unifying illustration. This was achieved by featuring a wetland scene of a Mallard hen and her brood, casting off for a swim atop of an artists palette, thus communicating the ways in which artists and their work have helped to protect these spaces.
